Bayelsa State is in the South-South geo-political zone of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. It is otherwise known (aka) "The Pride of the Nation". The state's delegation to ARESUVA 2008 was led by Chief Liz Bens, the Senior Special Assistant to the Executive Governor of Bayelsa State on Arts and Culture. And they had an impressive exhibtion in one of the Adjourning halls to the Main Exhibition Hall at the International Conference Centre (ICC). The high points of Bayels State's participation at ARESUVA 2008 was the "Bayelsa Day" charaterised by funfare, glitz and glamour. Visitors were treated to indigenous Bayelsa State dances by the colourful Bayelsa State cultural troupe.
